The Transition to a Low Carbon Economy
The global transition to net zero will require an energy revolution and major capital investment that will require unprecedented cooperation between financial markets, corporates, governments and society as a whole, as part of a just transition. According to the European Commission, the additional European financing needed for the green and digital transitions is an estimated €735bn per year by 2030.
As long-term investors tasked with stewarding the retirement wellbeing of millions of people and with trillions in capital, pension funds are critical actors in both funding and supporting this transition.
Stepping away from rhetoric and jargon, this conference explores key issues and challenges presented by the transition to a low-carbon economy from an institutional investment, regulation and policy perspective across asset classes in a compelling day-long programme. At the close of the conference, IPE rewards excellence and innovation in this area at an informal awards presentation.
