WEB ACCESSIBILITY COMPLIANCE
Understanding WCAG
WCAG is a development providing a shared standard for web content accessibility that seeks to meet individual or organisational needs for accessibility and compliance. This is a global initiative to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities.
Compliance levels
There are three compliance levels that WCAG assigns for website accessibility:
- A minimum level
- AA more accessible
- AAA even more accessible
Our event web platform, Swoogo, is currently rated AA, meaning the criteria at this level establish more accessibility that should work with most assistive technologies.
For instance, by right clicking any highlighted text and choosing read aloud, the text from that point on a given page will be read aloud until you close the real aloud function and descriptions can be added to images so that the contents can also be read aloud.
