Markus Wickenträger

Markus Wickenträger is Head of European Institutional Portfolio Management at DWS. He leads the European institutional portfolio management platform for real estate mandates comprising more than 15€ bn of AuM. This incorporates DWS’ Separate Account Mandates business and open-ended institutional fund that sit in the UK, alongside DWS’ vast German institutional fund platform. Prior to his current role he built portfolios and established products for clients with both regional and global investment strategies with a particular focus on Asia and the US, as well as real estate debt strategies. He has also held portfolio management roles for both open ended retail funds and institutional funds in Germany. He joined DWS in 2007 and has over 24 years’ experience in the real estate industry. He previously worked for the well-known Germany construction company HOCHTIEF as a project manager. He holds a degree in construction management from the University of Applied Sciences in Gießen (Diplom-Bauingenieur) and a degree in Business Administration and Engineering (Diplom-Wirtschaftsingenieur) from the University of Applied Sciences in Biberach.
