David Dix

David Dix is Partner at The Townsend Group's London office. He joined in 2018 and is responsible for discretionary client portfolio management, developing, implementing and managing global real asset investment portfolios. Dix has over 25 years’ experience in strategy development, capital raising and management of real estate funds and in providing strategy and investment advice to leading institutional real estate investors. He has worked in Europe, the United Kingdom, United States and Asia-Pacific. He started his real estate career with the investment team of St Quintin in London. He previously spent 7 years as a principal with a Japanese fund manager - largely based in Tokyo and managing private real estate funds. He spent 10 years with Macquarie Bank in Sydney, where he was initially focused on investment and financial (FX and interest rate) risk management advisory roles thereafter moving into fund management culminating in 3 years as Chief Executive Officer of a A.2bn listed REIT which owned United States Shopping Centres. He was previously at CBRE Capital Advisors (London) where he led the indirect advisory team. Dix holds a BA in Land Economy from Cambridge University (United Kingdom) and a BA in Agricultural Economics from Sydney University (Australia).
