Travel Information

By Public Transport

Allow approximately 60–75 minutes for the journey, including the transfer. Take the S8 S-Bahn towards Munich from the airport railway station to München Hauptbahnhof (Munich Central Station). The train journey takes approximately 40 minutes. At Hauptbahnhof, follow the signs to Hauptbahnhof Süd and take tram 18 towards Gondrellplatz or tram 19 towards Pasing Bf. Get off at Am Lokschuppen, a short walk from the hotel. The tram journey takes approximately 10 minutes.

A single ticket costs €15.10 per person for zones M–5 and covers both the S-Bahn and the connecting tram journey. Purchase your ticket before boarding at an airport ticket machine or through the MVV app. Paper tickets marked “validate here” must be stamped before travelling.

Taxis are available at the official taxi ranks at Terminals 1 and 2. Ask the driver for Munich Marriott Hotel City West, Landsberger Strasse 156, to ensure you are taken to the correct Marriott property.

Allow approximately 40–60 minutes, depending on traffic. For budgeting, an estimated €100–120 per taxi, one way, is a reasonable allowance based on the distance and current Munich taxi tariffs. The final metered fare will depend on the route and any traffic-related waiting time.
