Amlan Roy is Founder of Global Macro Demographics and Research Associate at the Systemic Risk Centre, London School of Economics (LSE). He was previously Head of Global Macro Policy Research and Senior MD at State Street Global Advisors (SSGA, focusing on macroeconomics, policy & politics, retirement & demographics for clients globally. He speaks at 50+ global conference events annually. Prior to current role, he was Global Chief Retirement Strategist from April 2017. He is Senior Research Associate at London School of Economics and Guest Finance Professor at London Business School. In 2020, he was elected Honorary Fellow, Institute and Faculty of Actuaries and also invited as Ambassador, Singapore FinTech Festival 2020. Prior to SSGA, he was Head of Global Demographics & Pensions Research and MD at Credit Suisse having joined there in 1998. He was a global client facing researcher and developed global risk and asset allocation models as an expert on financial system architecture and crises models. Roy spent over a decade in academia with a distinguished teaching career in the US and the UK. He was UK ESRC Research Fellow, Ponders Fellow, a Boston University Doctoral Scholar and a Government of India National Scholar. He has a PhD and an MA in Financial Economics from the University of Iowa and an MBA from Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad.
