Matt Humphries is VP -Hedge Funds Research at Preqin. He is responsible for maintaining data quality and growing the hedge fund dataset for users of the online product, Preqin Pro. Preqin builds key relationships with fund managers and investors and uses available online sources to ensure the quality of its ever-growing datasets. Preqin tracks more than 50,000 general partners (GPs), 150,000 funds, 23,000 limited partners (LPs) and over 600,000 deals as well as key metrics such as performance, benchmarks, AUMs, fund terms, future investor allocations and many more. This data is vital in helping institutions make informed allocation decisions as well as for creating inciteful industry reports across the alternative assets space. Humphries started in the research team as an associate, building relationships with many key hedge fund managers in the space before developing into a more senior member of the team and being promoted to a management position in February 2021.
