Despite years of legislation, campaigning and policy intervention that have helped to narrow gaps in wages, educational attainment, workplace achievement and even pensions participation between men and women, the gender pensions gap remains stubbornly wide in most of the developed world.

On 1 March 2023, to mark the start of International Women’s Month, IPE is holding a seminar that discusses the differences in retirement outcomes for men and women around the world and explores innovative, cutting-edge ideas to make retirement fairer.

With presentations from and conversations with international experts, 'Focus on the Gender Pensions Gap' promises an in-depth, thorough examination of the root causes of gender pensions inequality, the potential policy landscape and innovative ideas to narrow the gap.
