Carlos Joly

Joly Carlos is a Fellow at Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL). He is founder and CEO of 2 asset management companies. Joly started his career at Citibank in New York, London and Latin America. He has lectured at Oxford, Cambridge, Yale, Kellogg and Toulouse Business School. He created and ran the first pollution control technology fund in Scandinavia in 1989 and the first ESG fund in 1995 (the Storebrand Scudder Environmental Value Fund). Joly is a former chair of UNEP Finance Initiative and also co-chair of the Expert Group that drafted the UN Principles of Responsible Investment. He was advisor on ESG strategy and portfolio construction to the CEOs of Natixis AM/ Mirova, Groupama AM and the French State Pension Fund (Fonds de reserve de retraites de France). Joly founded the investment leaders group at CISL. He is an active investor and business owner. Joly has an MA in Philosophy from Harvard.
