Jared Carney is Vice Chairman at McKinley Capital Management. McKinley Capital Management is the largest private investor in the state of Alaska. He is currently a Senior Advisor at Apollo, Fiduciary Co-Investment Partners and REIT 3650. He has spent his career building companies and forging partnerships with business leaders, philanthropists and government officials across the globe. He is the founder of Lightdale LLC, a global investment and strategic advisory firm focused not only on generating returns, but also in effecting socially impactful and philanthropic change. The firm is invested in multiple asset classes alongside some of the most experienced partners in international finance. Carney was a pioneer in the Internet/high-tech and media industries where he successfully founded, launched or helped build a number of disruptive companies and technologies including launching Java for Sun Microsystems, establishing Fox Networks web presence (X-Files and all owned & operated TV stations), co- starting Intranets.com, an Idealab company (sold to WebEx), and Captura (sold to Concur). He previously served as Chief Strategy Officer at the Milken Institute, working closely with Michael Milken to grow the annual Global Conference into the world’s largest capital markets gathering, as well as growing the Institute into one of the world’s preeminent financial think tanks. He also served as a senior advisor and worked closely with Milken on Knowledge Universe as it became the world’s largest privately owned for-profit education company.
