Valentina Ramirez is Senior Specialist for Public Markets at Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change (IIGCC). She leads workstreams on Sovereign Bonds and Country Pathways, Derivatives and Hedge Funds and Net Zero Benchmarks and Index Investing. She started her career in Colombia's largest financial group (Grupo Bancolombia) in the asset management and investment banking teams, where she led the issuance of green and social bonds and structured finance vehicles. She previously worked as a climate finance consultant for Genesis Analytics, an African-based consultancy, leading climate-related projects serving private sector, not-for-profit and development institutions in South Africa, Senegal, Uganda and Egypt. She also served as Deputy Head of Natural Capital Advisory for CrossBoundary, a mission-driven investment advisory firm, where she provided financial and strategic advice to forest-based carbon transactions across Latin America and Africa. Ramirez is an economist and CFA charterholder, with a MSc in Philosophy and Public Policy from the London School of Economics.
