Manuel Casanga is the Director of Real Estate and Real Asset Investments at the New York State Common Retirement Fund (NYSCRF), where he has served since 1997. He oversees a 37$ bn portfolio, driving long-term performance and diversification for one of the nation’s largest public pension funds. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Pension Real Estate Association (PREA) and serves as Secretary of the PREA Foundation, which promotes diversity and career opportunities for emerging talent in the real estate investment sector. Casanga holds a Bachelor of Science in Management from Rutgers University and a Master of Science in Real Estate Finance from New York University. A U.S. military veteran, he retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the New Jersey Army National Guard.
