Clemens Schaefer is the Global Head of Real Estate, APAC & Europe at DWS Real Estate. He joined the Company in 1998 and has more than 27 years of expertise in real estate investment management. During his career, he has been responsible for more than 20€bn of transaction activity and has built several major separate account relationships with institutional clients for DWS. He was previously the Head of Portfolio Management and Chief Investment Officer for the European Real Estate platform. He also serves as Chairman of the Real Estate Committee of the German Federal Association of Investment and Asset Management. Schaefer holds a Master of Science in real estate from University of Wisconsin-Madison and in economics from University of Freiburg; es also earned the degree of Real Estate Economist from EBS University of Business and Law, Oestrich-Winkel.
