Lisette van Doorn

Few individuals have shaped the European real estate investment landscape as profoundly as Lisette van Doorn. As founding chief executive of INREV, she built the association from the ground up, establishing the transparency standards and common definitions that allowed the non-listed real estate market to mature into a mainstream institutional asset class. Since joining ULI Europe as chief executive in 2015, she has expanded the institute’s thought leadership across 14 countries, championing decarbonisation through the C Change programme and consistently placing the built environment’s most pressing challenges at the centre of industry debate. A career spanning ING Real Estate, CBRE Investment Management and her own advisory practice reflects an intellect and commitment that the industry is fortunate to have.

Cornel Widmer

Cornel Widmer’s career is one of the most distinctive in European institutional real estate, beginning in architecture before evolving into one of the most senior global investment roles in the insurance industry. As Head of Group Real Estate at Zurich Insurance since 2012, he has built and led a global team responsible for real estate strategy across Zurich’s worldwide balance sheets, chairing the Global Real Estate Investment Committee across multiple continents and asset strategies. Under his stewardship the team has won IAZI Real Estate Investment Awards in both the Best Commercial Properties and Best Insurance Company Portfolio categories. Holding a master’s degree in real estate from the University of Zurich alongside qualifications in architecture, Widmer combines rare technical depth with investment rigour. A thoroughly worthy recipient of this honour.
