James MacNamara

James MacNamara is Head of Operating Real Estate Strategies at Schroders Capital. His career in real estate began in Deutsche Bank in 1997 where until 2007 he was investing across Europe into owner-operator real estate businesses such as: the French department store chain Printemps; multiple residential portfolios across France, Germany and Scandinavia; and distressed asset acquisitions including hotels and industrial. In the post GFC decade, MacNamara focused on restructuring owner-operated business, such as Jurys Inns, which owned and operated 31 hotels across UK and Ireland and platform acquisitions including the entirety of GE Capital’s German real estate business and a Dutch platform owning and managing 69 offices across Netherlands.
