Henk Groot is Head of Investments with the Dutch industry-wide retailers pension fund, Pensioenfonds Detailhandel, which has 1.2 million members and €32bn in assets under management. He started his career with KAS Bank where he acted in several roles being account manager for professional domestic traders, network manager global custody and senior relationship manager for Institutional Investors. He then moved to Northern Trust where he became VP, responsible for Dutch Institutional clients. He studied at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences and has taken numerous Dutch study courses relating to the securities business and academic courses on pension funds at Toronto’s Rotman School of Management.
