David Hourihan

David Hourihan is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland (SCSI) and the Higher Education Academy (HEA). He is a member of the Investment Property Forum Research Steering Group (London) and a member of the SCSI Commercial Agency Professional Group Committee (Dublin). He is a contributor and trainer at Bayfield Training on executive short commercial property investment webinars and courses and an Assessment of Professional Competency (APC) Chairman with the RICS. In 2011 Hourihan became a full-time academic at the University College of Estate Management (UCEM), a leading provider of supported online learning for the built environment. Currently, he is the Programme Leader for UCEM’s MSc Real Estate programme and the Module Leader on the ‘Real Estate Investment’ modules on the ‘MSc Real Estate’, ‘MBA Construction and Real Estate’ and ‘BSc (Hons) Real Estate Management’ programmes at UCEM. Prior to becoming a full-time academic, he worked for fifteen years in the commercial real estate sector in both Ireland and the United Kingdom and has worked with several leading real estate firms such as JLL and Colliers International. His clients have included Société Générale, Metzler Bank, Mobile Oil, Aviva, British Land and Scottish Widows.
