Steve Weikal is Head of Industry Relations | CRE Tech Lead, MIT Real Estate Innovation Lab at the MIT Center for Real Estate. He is also a lecturer, researcher, and thought leader focused on innovative new technologies and business models in real estate management, transactions and development. Weikal has spoken extensively about real estate technology for corporate clients around the world and at conferences for AFIRE, AsRES, BOMA, CCIM, CoreNet, CREW, ICSC, IREM, NAIOP, SIOR, and ULI. He has been quoted by numerous media outlets, including BuzzFeed, TechInsider, Medium, CP Executive, Harvard Real Estate Review, the Boston Globe, GlobeSt. the Real Reporter, Travel Weekly, IPE Real Assets Europe and Anuario Inmobiliario LatinoAmerica. He is a member of the Global Insights Panel for MIT Technology Review, a member of the CREtech Leadership Board, and sits on the advisory boards of six real estate technology start-ups. He has master’s degrees in real estate development and urban planning from MIT, and a law degree from Suffolk University Law School.
