All entrants must enter their country or regional category and then they may enter as many of the themed awards as they wish. For the gold level Investment Consultancy of the Year and platinum level Real Assets & Infrastructure Investor of the Year, candidates prepare entries in the same way.

For the gold awards for Small, Medium and Large Real Estate Investor, and platinum Global Real Estate Investor of the Year, IPE Real Assets will form short-lists based on the size and global reach of each entrant in the silver regional awards and the best performing candidates from the silver themed awards. Entrants may prepare separate entries for these categories, if they wish.

We use a streamlined online entry system to process the entries. Once all the entries are submitted, the judges access them online using a secure login.

Each panel includes judges with appropri­ate country and/or subject knowledge. The first phase judging invites each member of each judging panel to read and score the entries according to a 20-point score matrix that ranks each against their peers nationally, regionally and globally. The judges then rank their top three for each category they review. We calculate an average of the judges’ scores to produce the result in each category.

If the outcome of an award is too close to call, there may a second stage of judging whereby we invite each member of each judging panel to join a conference call to discuss the result. The judges may revise their score during or after the call. We then recalculate the averages accordingly and agree the winners.
