Elwin de Groot is Head of Macro Strategy at Rabobank’s RaboResearch Global Economics and Markets, heading up its Netherlands-based team, which covers the main areas of G7 economics, key emerging markets, money markets, foreign exchange and fixed income research. The European economy and financial markets, including ECB monetary policy are his key areas of attention. He joined Rabobank in 2006. Being a seasoned speaker, de Groot gives many presentations and lectures for various client groups of Rabobank, including institutional investors and large corporates. He also regularly appears in the national and international press. Between 1998 and 2006, he worked for Fortis Bank as a European economist. He started his career at the Dutch Institute for Applied Scientific Research, where he worked as a researcher and project manager in the area of contract research for various clients in the public and private sector. De Groot holds a master’s in economics at the Erasmus University of Rotterdam.
