Hans Op ‘t Veld has been Head of Responsible Investment of PGGM, leading a team of 14 professionals, since early 2018. With ESG fully integrated in the PGGM investment teams, he is a member of PGGM’s Public and Private Markets management teams. He also serves on the general board of Eumedion and he is a research fellow at the Amsterdam School of Real Estate. Op ‘t Veld has a background in real estate investment, strategy, allocation and performance measurement. He was previously Partner at Global Property Research (GPR from its start in 1996. In 2001 he joined investment bank Kempen’s corporate finance practice in Amsterdam with a focus on real estate. Subsequently he joined IPD (now part of MSCI) in London from 2003, as Head of Property Vehicles. Op ’t Veld joined PGGM in 2007 to head the Listed Real Estate Securities department before joining the Responsible Investment team. He holds an MSc in Financial Economics from the Maastricht University and is a PhD candidate at Tilburg University / TIAS.
