Claus Fintzen is the CIO and Head of Infrastructure Debt at AllianzGI in London. The infrastructure debt platform was created in 2012 in order to develop the institutional market for this asset class and to originate suitable transactions for the Allianz Group and certain external institutional investors. To date, the team invested in excess of €17.5bn in the transportation, social infrastructure, energy and utility sectors globally. Before joining AllianzGI Fintzen spent eight years at MBIA/Trifinium as director, where he was involved in a variety of transactions, including transportation, social housing, renewables, real estate and corporate debt, and was responsible for the origination and structuring of transactions in Germany and Austria. Before joining MBIA/Trifinium he spent nine years at Citigroup, working in the structured finance, securitisation and alternative risk transfer departments. Fintzen has a degree in business administration from the European Business School in Oestrich-Winkel, Germany.
