Julian Proctor is CEO and a Board Member of Purus Marine. He has 25 years of experience in the transportation industry. Before joining Purus Marine, he was Chief Investment Officer at Tiger Group, a large shipowner based in Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Tokyo, with over 190 vessels. Proctor was a board member, observer, or executive of the various subsidiary shipowners of Tiger Group. Prior to that, he was Chief Strategy Officer of BNP Paribas Fortis Asia Pacific, reporting directly to the CEO, and was a member of the regional board. He holds an MSt from the University of Cambridge, where he was the recipient of the Oxford University Press Bryman and Bell Prize. He speaks Japanese and is the founder of the UK – Japan Leadership Program and a member of the China-Japan Leadership Program and Chatham House.
