Benjamin Schmitt is an Investment Director within the Private Infrastructure Debt team at DWS. He focuses on fundraising, originating, structuring and executing European private debt investments across a broad range of infrastructure sectors, including energy transition and sustainable assets. Schmitt was instrumental in setting up the European infrastructure debt business at DWS, from its outset to currently 1.2€bn of Assets Under Management. He started his career in Real Estate Structure Finance at Société Générale CIB in Paris. He was an infrastructure banker at Intesa Sanpaolo IMI where he focused on arranging and underwriting a range of large private infrastructure debt transactions across Energy and Transportation.
