Asger Strange Olesen is Director – ESG, Climate & Biodiversity – AM+ at Woodland Company. He is a seasoned forest sustainability expert, with over 15 years of global ESG experience spanning regulatory, international and multistakeholder settings. He has developed and executed forest ecosystems targeting sustainability and investment strategies as lawmaker for the European Commission, as advisor for institutional investors and the forest sector, as Chief Climate Officer for the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), and as a carbon market developer. He has an extensive field background from six continents and today serves on several advisory boards and is a UNFCCC Lead Reviewer and a Member of the EU Carbon Removal Expert group, that advises EU lawmakers on governing and standardizing incentives for carbon as part of integrated nature-based solutions. International Woodland Company (IWC) is majority owned by BNP Paribas Asset Management. He has a Masters in Geography and a graduate degree in business administration.
