Pirkko Juntunen has worked as a freelance journalist and writer specialising on institutional investors with focus on both traditional and alternative asset classes, in particular hedge funds, since 2006. She started her career in journalism in 1997 as a reporter in the newsletter division of Institutional Investor. Her primary focus was international pensions and investments. She was recruited by Financial News, today a Dow Jones company, in 1999 to boost their international asset management and pensions coverage. Juntunen was also part of the team that launched the online daily news service of Financial News. In 2004 she joined Fidelity International as a fund analyst, working closely with fund managers responsible for pan-European, global and emerging markets equity funds. Apart from her journalistic work she also works with communications, translations, editing and blogging as well as events in the pensions and investments sectors. She studied International Journalism at City University in London and is a graduate of Uppsala University in Sweden.
