Paul Simpson OBE is Partner – Climate Change & Sustainability at ERM. He was an early pioneer of climate and environmental disclosure and is passionate about accelerating the transition towards a Net Zero global economy. He co-founded CDP in 2001 and spent twelve years as the Chief Executive Officer. CDP is a global non-profit that drives companies, cities and governments to measure and reduce their greenhouse gas emissions, safeguard water resources and protect forests. Simpson was honoured to receive an OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) for services to Tackling Climate Change, in Her Majesty the Queen’s Birthday 2022 Honours List. He was awarded the Responsible Business Honouree Award by Reuters Events in 2022 for efforts to advance sustainable business over the last two decades. He previously sat on the boards of the Science Based Targets Initiative, We Mean Business, The Investor Agenda and the Climate Disclosure Standards Board (now part of the International Sustainability Standards Board). Simpson was a council member of the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC), a member the Global Stranded Assets Advisory Council for the Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment at the University of Oxford and the Friends of Climate Action group at the World Economic Forum. He was previously on the Board of EIRIS (now part of Moody's), a member of the Global Agenda Council on Measuring Sustainability at the World Economic Forum and a High-Level Panel Member for the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) Policy Dialogue
