Martin Brühl is Chief Investment Officer of Union Investment Real Estate GmbH in charge of transactions management for the real estate division of the Union Investment Group. With assets under management totalling some €33bn, the division’s investment focus lies on office, retail and hospitality assets in core markets in Europe, the Americas and Asia-Pacific. Prior to joining Union Investment, Brühl enjoyed a 20-year career in the real estate and business consultancy industry, working for groups like Arthur Andersen and Cushman & Wakefield. Trained as a bank officer with a degree in real estate appraisal and finance, he has served as President of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), a global professional body in land, property and construction and continues to act as ambassador for responsible and sustainable investment in real assets.
