Stefan Dunatov is Executive Vice President, Investment Strategy & Risk at British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI), which he joined in September 2017. With CD171.3bn of managed assets at 31 March 2020, BCI is one of Canada’s largest institutional investors. Prior to joining BCI, Dunatov was Chief Investment Officer with the UK’s Coal Pension Trustee Services (CPTI) for five years. Originally from New Zealand, his career has included roles with Deutsche Asset Management, the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, Equitas Limited, and HSBC. He holds a master’s degree in economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and undergraduate degrees in both law and economics from the University of Auckland. He is a member of the investment committee of Wellcome Trust, a global medical charity, and chair of the 300 Club. He also serves on the QuadReal Property Group board of directors.
