Michaël Deinema is CCO of The Pension Rating Agency (TPRA), an independent rating and benchmarking agency for the Dutch pensions sector. A historian by training, he holds a PhD in economic geography and was active for several years as a social scientist and lecturer at the University of Amsterdam. As a seasoned and versatile researcher with a strong interest in socio-economic affairs, Deinema joined TPRA in 2015 on account of its mission to improve transparency within the Dutch pension sector and boost the availability of market data and performance data related to pensions. His first roles were as a researcher/analyst and later as Head of PR and Business Development. Under Deinema’s guidance, TPRA published its fifth annual Monitor Remunerations in October 2020, a yearly report comparing remuneration systems and levels for fund trustees.
