Sony Kapoor is Chairman of the international think tank RE-DEFINE and Managing Director of the Nordic Institute of Finance, Technology, Sustainability & Society. Both work with European and emerging market governments, multilateral institutions and investors on economic policy, finance, development, technology and sustainability. His career spans investment banking, academia, civil society and policymaking across several countries. Kapoor has had a multidisciplinary role at the LSE as a Senior Visiting Fellow in the Development, European and Government Departments and as Strategy Adviser to the Systemic Risk Centre. He has also been a special adviser to the UN on green finance, and to the OECD, IMF, World Bank, European Commission and Parliament on economic policy and financial reform. He was elected the first Chair of the Banking Stakeholder Group at the European Banking Authority and is a trustee of Friends of Europe. His contributions to financial reforms have led to recognition as a Young Global Leader by WEF, a Young European Leader by Friends of Europe and a Fellow by RSA.
