Richard Turner

Richard Turner is a managing director in Mesirow Financial’s Currency Management group. His primary responsibilities include the leadership of the group’s research effort within the alpha and macros strategies team. Turner has over 10 years’ experience in quantitative research and systematic trading strategies. Previously he was the director of research at The Cambridge Strategy (TCS), which was acquired by Mesirow Financial in 2018. Turner has worked in the quantitative research groups at JP Morgan, RBS and Credit Suisse, where he began his investment banking career in 2000. During 2013 and 2014, he worked as the lead quantitative researcher for asymmetric investment management. His current research interests include the application of deep convolutional neural networks to the predictions of financial markets. Turner earned a BS in mathematics and physics from the University of Nottingham and an MS in financial mathematics from Kings College London. He holds the Certificate in Quantitative Finance and is a qualified chartered accountant.
