Sergio Miguez

Sergio Miguez has over 20 years’ investment experience leading specialised teams focused on doing due diligence on hedge funds, private equity / debt, and real assets, among others. Currently he serves as an independent consultant in artificial intelligence for various institutions and family offices in Spain and Latin America and is the founder and lead manager of Alternative Ratings. Previous roles include CIO at Lazard Wealth Management and Managing Director of Lazard Asset Management in Spain; CIO of absolute return strategies at Sabadell Asset Management; Managing Director of Atlantico Fondos Asset Management; and Head of Equities at Allianz Popular Asset Management. He started his career in 1992 at Siemens in Germany and Spain. Miguez remains active in various research and educational initiatives for EFPA (European Financial Planning Association) as Chief Economist, and business schools, such a IEB in Madrid and IEF in Barcelona. He holds various financial designations, including Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA), Financial Risk Manager (FRM) & European Financial Advisor (EFA). Miguez earned a master’s in portfolio management from IEB and graduated in law and business administration (E-3) from ICADE in Madrid.
