For 15 years, Ian Coleman was the Director of the £9bn Merseyside Pension Fund. Since 2015, he has been the Independent chair of the pension boards for the Greater Gwent (Torfaen) Pension Fund and the London Borough of Redbridge Pension Fund. For four years, Coleman was an adviser on the UK's Local Government Pension Scheme to a Japanese bank, and has been an adviser on corporate governance to a sovereign wealth fund.
