Monday, December 2, 2019, 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM | The Investment Innovation Benchmark (IIB)

IIB will be holding its outreach event on 2 December 2019 (11:00-15:00) alongside IPE in Copenhagen. In his personal capacity as member of the EU Technical Expert Group (TEG) on Sustainable Finance Professor Andreas Hoepner will lead the workshop and explain how climate transition investing allows asset owners to become climate neutral by 2050 and why it relies on the concept of complete carbon visibility.

IIB was set up as a research project to understand where true innovation in asset management originates from. It aims to tackle the significant conflicts of interest between marketing and innovation by supporting asset owners in their technological due diligence. In doing so, the IIB leadership hopes to create more incentives for financial services firms to invest in true innovation instead of just marketing. IIB holds regular in-person meetings and webinars and invites organisations to present/submit an innovation to one or several of the Assessment Committee members, consisting of Asset Owners and academics. A submission will be accepted if, and only if, the members of the assessment committee approve its innovativeness, meaning that nothing else globally is known to match at least one of its up to three claims.
