Joseph Mariathasan is a partner of Pangaea Finance Partners, which focuses on cross-border investment activities with Chinese institutions. He is also Contributing Editor to Investments & Pensions Europe with a monthly investment column and a co-founder and shareholder of Investments & Pensions China. Mariathasan’s career has included working for Shell International, Kleinwort Benson, Aviva, and GMO, in a variety of roles. Mariathasan has extensive knowledge of risk management, asset allocation, derivatives, treasury, fixed interest, listed equity and private equity fund management. Mariathasan has also worked on strategy consultancy projects for many of the leading global financial services companies. He has a doctorate in physics from Oxford University.
