Rod Davidson is the Head of Fixed Income Investment Specialist team within Aberdeen Standard Investments. He initially joined Aberdeen in 2000 following the merger with Murray Johnstone’s global fixed Income business, when he became Global Head of Fixed Income and a member of the executive and asset allocation committees. Subsequently in 2006, he worked for Scottish Widows Investment Partnership, becoming Global Head of Fixed Income. Following Lloyds Bank’s takeover of HBoS, Davidson left SWIP and set up a new fixed income business within Alliance Trust. Latterly, he has been Non-Executive Chairman of Cairn Capital and Senior Non-Executive Director of Henderson Diversified Income Trust. Davidson started his investment career in 1987 as a bond economist with UBS-Philips and Drew in London, before moving some years later into fund management as a global fixed income manager for Provident Mutual, Sun Life and the Kuwait Investment Office, where he was in charge of managing North American fixed income. Davidson graduated with a BA in economics from Heriot Watt University in 1985 and successfully completed the Harvard Business School GMP3 programme in 2008.
