Dorothee Franzen

Dorothee Franzen is Managing Director at Avida International. She heads Avida in Germany. She consults large pension funds on investment governance, organisational change and in- and outsourcing strategies in the context of regulation. She previously worked as a consultant to the OECD on the impact of regulation and governance on pension funds’ investment strategies. She also helped MetallRente, Germany’s largest pension scheme, to better understand the savings behaviour of their members and improve its governance. She has held senior roles at Allianz Global Investors and Unicredit. Franzen is a member of the aba Committee on Digitalisation and lecturer at a business school in Germany. She has published various papers and articles on pension issues. Franzen was educated in Oxford and Munich. She holds a Diplom in Economics from the University of Munich and received her DPhil in Economic Geography from the University of Oxford.
