DeAnne Julius

Dame DeAnne Julius is a Distinguished Fellow at Chatham House, The Royal Institute of International Affairs. She is an international economist who was a founder member of the Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee. She has chaired the Councils of University College London (UCL) and the Royal Institute of International Affairs at Chatham House. Her early career was with the World Bank where she worked on energy and infrastructure projects in Asia and East Africa. After moving to the UK, she became Chief Economist at Shell and then at British Airways. In her non-executive career she has been a board member of BP, Deloitte UK, ICE Benchmark Administration, Jones Lang LaSalle, Lloyds Bank, Roche and Serco. She has also served on the international advisory boards of Temasek in Singapore and the China Investment Corporation. She is currently an Advisory Board member of The Rock Creek Group, a Washington-based private investment firm. She holds a PhD in economics from the University of California.
