Jeff Houston is Public Sector Pensions Consultant at Barnett Waddingham LLP. He has been working part time with Barnett Waddingham LLP as a senior public sector consultant as well as taking on a number of other project based consultancy and recruitment roles within the LGPS, since April 2022. Houston has over 40 years’ experience in public sector pensions. He has held a variety of posts with several Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) administering authorities, initially in Liverpool and now London. He previously held the role of Head of Pensions at the Local Government Association where he was responsible for the development of national and European policy for public service pensions with particular focus on the funded Local Government and the unfunded Teachers and Firefighters schemes. In 2015 he added the role of Secretary to the Local Government Pension Scheme Advisory Board (England and Wales).
