Niklas Ekvall

Niklas Ekvall is the Chief Executive Officer at AP4 (Fourth Swedish National Pension Fund). AP4 is a long-term investor with a strong focus on sustainability, especially within climate change and corporate governance. He has held previous positions including head of private banking at Nordea and head of asset management at Nordea, Carnegie and AP3 respectively. Ekvall was previously group treasurer of Nordea, the largest bank in the Nordics. He is currently on the board of Vasakronan, the largest real estate company in Sweden and on the investment committee of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. He also chairs the board of the Swedish House of Finance at the Stockholm School of Economics and. He has been Professor (adjunct) and Associate Professor at the Stockholm School of Economics, from where he has a PhD degree in financial economics.
