Over the past 15 months, INVL pensija 1989-1995 Index Plus (INVL) has demonstrated a strong balance between sustainability, tactical investments and proactive risk management. Its approach has focused on delivering long-term value for investors while maintaining a clear commitment to responsible investing and ESG principles. INVL blends innovation with financial performance to deliver attractive returns while positively impacting the environment.

A major milestone was last year’s investment in SB Modernizavimo Fondas II, a €200m fund supporting the renovation and modernisation of Lithuanian multi-apartment buildings. Last year also saw the exclusion of Chinese equities due to concerns over China’s non-democratic regime, heightened geopolitical risks, and structural challenges such as a shrinking population and real estate market turmoil.

Over the past year, INVL excelled in tactical asset allocation, seizing market opportunities to enhanced returns. Another major development was achieving Article 8 compliance under the SFDR, reinforcing INVL’s commitment to integrating ESG considerations into its investment process

PZU OFE Złota Jesień’s (Złota Jesień) investment strategy is based on a balanced and diversified portfolio, investing primarily in equities, with around 76% allocated to domestic stocks and some 15% overseas.

Złota Jesień’s risk monitoring depends entirely on an inhouse developed model tailored to its needs. It uses modern techniques, such as exponentially weighted moving averages to better track market volatility in an open-source environment. In addition, the platform also conducts stress tests that simulate crisis situations, such as stock market falls or interest rate hikes to ensure resilience under different market scenarios.

Złota Jesień has developed its own ESG scoring system that is thoroughly data-driven and tailored to ensure objectivity and precision. It can perform cross-sector comparisons on a universe of almost 300 companies. Złota Jesień also adheres to strict investment principles by excluding industries that conflict with its ESG values, such as the production of arms, alcohol or gambling.

Over the past year, SEB Investment Management (SEB) has had a strong impact on Latvia’s second pillar pension system, proving that a pension manager’s role is much broader than asset management. SEB played a pivotal role in pension system changes, forming a team of industry players, including the Finance Latvia Association to initiate and maintain dialogue with politicians and state institutions about the need to improve transparency of the system.

Swedbank Pension Plan's recent focus has been on ESG and sustainability. Since 2021 it has used MSCI ESG rating data to measure its portfolios based on ESG quality score and has placed special focus on gradually and persistently reducing the carbon intensity of its portfolios to contribute to global carbon neutrality commitments. Elsewhere, its Dinamika+100 plan became the first pension plan in Latvia to offer an investment strategy based entirely on equities and equity risk-like instruments.
