Denis Gaiovy is Associate Director, Senior Banker, Sustainable Infrastructure at European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). He is charge of municipal and transport (railways) sectors operations in Ukraine, dealing with sectors policy dialogue as well as preparation and implementation of the EBRD funded investment projects in both municipal and transport sectors of Ukraine. Municipal Investment portfolio of the Bank in Ukraine exceeds 0.8€bn in 19 municipalities across Ukraine while Cumulative Transport Investment Portfolio is circa 2.5€bn. Since the start of the Russian war on Ukraine, under Gaiovy’s leadership the Bank has committed urgently needed funding to support critical municipal and transport (railways) infrastructure to the total amount of circa 350€m (consisting of both loans and grants) with further 250€m under consideration. Gaiovy, has been leading EBRD projects and project teams in the municipal and transport (railways) sector of Ukraine covering both sovereign and sub-sovereign projects, capital market transactions, municipal deals in subsectors of public transport, district heating, energy efficiency in public buildings, water and wastewater, solid waste management and urban roads.
