Charlotte O'Leary
CEO, Pensions for Purpose
Charlotte O’Leary is Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director at Pensions for Purpose. She oversees the running of the business and ecosystem, develops the growth and innovation strategy and looks for opportunities to build partnerships to achieve Pension for Purpose’s vision. O’Leary leads the Global Impact Forum, is a co-author of the Impact Investing Institute’s Impact Investing Principles for Pensions, an expert adviser on impact philosophy and impact investing and manages the company’s B Corporation impact assessment. She is also a member of the Sounding Board for the Social Value Portal, a member of the Impact Investing Institute’s Pensions Expert Panel, an advocate for ESG for Investors and is regularly asked to contribute to sustainable and impact investing initiatives. She has over 15 years of experience in asset management. She started her career in fund analysis and progressed through to institutional relationship management, covering both public and private markets. She has worked for some well-known institutions, including Jupiter, Pictet and Cambridge Associates. She co-authored a paper ‘How to Unleash the Power of Social Impact Investing’ with the Society of Pension Professionals in 2019 as a member of the Investment Committee. She has built a knowledge and passion for sustainable and impact investing. This is coupled with her academic background in behavioural psychology, volunteering and mentoring roles at charities and in mental health settings. She applies her interdisciplinary skills to the pension and wider financial ecosystem to find solutions to encourage capital to flow through to positive impact investments at scale.
