Sherif Ayoub
Senior Director, Finance and Operations, Sustainable Energy for All
Sherif Ayoub is Senior Director, Finance and Operations at SEforALL. He has over 25 years of expertise in strategy, finance, investments and economic development leadership roles in the United States, Middle East, Asia and Africa. He worked for the Islamic Development Bank Group from 2006 to 2019 where his last role was Senior Advisor, Office of the Vice President – Finance and CFO. He has spent most of his career within multilateral development banks; he also has a deep understanding of development from his years working at the grass-roots level in Africa. He was previously the Chief Financial Officer at APICORP where, in addition to overseeing and building the various departments in the Finance Complex, he spearheaded the launch of the ESG Policy Framework and Green Bond Framework as well as the energy transition in the investment, financing portfolio with a much greater focus on the utilities sector, particularly renewables. Ayoub also worked with A.T. Kearney, US Government, UNDP and the World Bank holding difference positions.
Ayoub has a PhD from the University of Edinburgh, having earlier been educated at Columbia University (Masters) and Baldwin Wallace University (Bachelors). He served as a Visiting Fellow at Harvard University and is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charter holder and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
