Alessia Berardi is Head of Emerging Markets Macro and Strategy Research at Amundi, responsible for the top-down research analysis for global emerging markets. She joined the Global Research Team at Amundi Asset Management, formerly Pioneer Investments, in 2004. She first covered the main developed market economies of the US, Europe, and Japan before leading the research team in London with a specific focus on global emerging markets from 2013. Berardi's approach is model-driven, aimed at identifying the fundamental factors that eventually influence investment decisions. She monitors and forecasts economic factors, policies, trends and risks impacting the economic/business cycle and the financial markets. She is responsible for the development of the global outlook for Amundi Asset Management, supporting investment decisions and balancing research with the practical ability to implement investable solutions. She is also involved in advisory engagements with institutional clients. Berardi experience in asset management goes back to 1998. She graduated in economics from the University of Pavia in 1998 and contributed to the economic research papers at the Bank of Italy on BVAR Techniques for the construction of quarterly and monthly forecasting models in 1997. She is a lecturer at the University of Genoa.
