Najat El Mekkaoui

Najat El Mekkaoui is Professor and Senior Research Fellow at the Economics Department, LEDa DIAL, University Paris Dauphine-PSL and holds several leadership positions in international bodies. El Mekkaoui research focuses on financial and non-financial risks management, social protection programs, pension funds strategies. She teaches international economics, econometrics, data analysis, financial markets, portfolio theory, demography and social security.She is Research Fellow at the Euro-mediterranean Network of Economic Studies and the Economic Research Forum. El Mekkaoui founded the annual International Conference on Pension, Insurance and Savings in 2003 that was co-organised with University of California at Berkeley, Harvard University, NOVA University and Oxford University.She was distinguished visiting research fellow at Oxford University (Smith school of Enterprise and the Environment), visiting professor at Harvard University (Law School), NOVA University (Information Management School) and Warwick University (Business School).She has served as Scientific Adviser for the Ministry of Social Affairs and National Employment Studies Center (France) and for the World Bank (Washington-DC). She also served as a member and expert advisor of the National Council of Human Rights (Morocco) and at the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia.El Mekkaoui currently serves as the Chair of the Social Funds committee for the Moroccan Central Bank and as a member at the Central Bank's Administrative Council. She is also a member of the Executive committee and Steering committee at the National Pension and Insurance Scheme in Morocco and Scientific Council Member of the Capital Market Authority of Morocco.
