Joseph Mariathasan is Director of GIST Impact, which uses a science-based, data-driven approach to help companies and investors understand the size of their impacts on natural, human, social and produced capital. He is also Operating Partner – Business Development at Peak Sustainability Ventures, which is pioneering early-stage climate investing in India, and a Contributing Editor to IPE. In addition, he sits on the Advisory Boards of Moneyhub, the open banking platform, and pinBox Solutions, which strives to reduce old-age poverty. Mariathasan’s career has included working for Shell International, Kleinwort Benson, Aviva, and GMO in a variety of roles. He has extensive knowledge of ESG and impact investing, risk management, asset allocation, derivatives, treasury, fixed interest, listed equity and private equity fund management. He has also worked on strategy consultancy projects for many of the world’s leading global financial services companies. Mariathasan has a first-class degree and a doctorate in physics from Oxford University.
