Susanne Schmeier is an Associate Professor of Water Law and Diplomacy at IHE Delft. She focuses on conflict and cooperation over shared natural resources and the role law and institutions play in mitigating such conflict risks. She previously worked for the German Gesellschaft für internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), the World Bank and the Mekong River Commission, among others. Schmeier is a member of several international and national expert groups and advisory panels on environmental, water and climate conflict and cooperation and published widely on the topic.
